Prior to the beginning of JAMM Transit, INCA was no stranger to transportation services. INCA had been providing transportation for Head Start children and operating a senior citizen program since 1972. In 1997, city councils, service agencies and citizens approached INCA about opening their senior citizens' routes to the general public.
JAMM Transit system began with seven vehicles, five were handicap accessible, JAMM now has a fleet of 35 vehicles serving the four counties. It provides transportation services to the citizens of the four counties. JAMM has a total of 18 routes. These are well established routes that serve the majority of the counties communities. In the 2002-2003 year JAMM has expanded their services in the areas of non-emergency medical transportation and the Road to Work program.
Public services are operated in each of the four counties. Public services begin at 8:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Method of operation is responsive with at least a 2 hour response time in the towns of Madill, Atoka, Tishomingo and Sulphur. A 24 hour call-in is required on scheduled routes to outlying communities.
